Our Salty Lemon Pickle is made with locally sourced ripe lemons by Kavita didi from Khalad village, Maharashtra.
The bright yellow Kagzi lemons are washed and dried. Each lemon is cut into four pieces, and the seeds are removed. We mix these tangy lemon pieces with cinnamon, crushed black pepper, pure salt, and a touch of sugar for balance. The lemon pieces are sun-dried and then allowed to mature for 2 months naturally in traditional clay jars (barnis), which gives the pickle its deep sour kick and gentle spice.
This medium-spicy pickle is bold in sourness with a mild sweetness in every bite. Each jar is full of soft, tender lemon slices in a sweet-and-salty syrup. There are no chemical preservatives or artificial colours – just simple, natural ingredients prepared hygienically. The result is a zesty, pure lemon pickle that brightens any meal.
This uses no oil and aids in digestion; it is a staple in our Oil-Free Pickles collection. If you love the "Khatta-Meetha" taste of lemon, then you should also try our Black Lemon Pickle.
