A Visionary Team Empowering Rural Women Across India

Manjari Sharma started FarmDidi to empower rural women. When the migrant crisis struck during the lockdown, she wanted to bring a change. So, in 2021, She started FarmDidi with her husband, Anukrit, and her elder sister Asmita. It's a tech-led food startup aimed at helping rural women produce high-quality food products and earn a livelihood. Today, it comprises 550 Didis from rural India and has positively impacted 43 villages.

ENTREPRENEURIAL TALES OF OUR DIDIS

I met Manjari Didi, who asked me whether loans would help women to start businesses. I had seen that reaching more customers in cities for rural women was a bigger hurdle than getting a loan. FarmDidi helped us understand everything from food hygiene, testing, packing, licensing, marketing, negotiation, etc. I have become confident and more courageous now to face difficulties and solve problems in my personal life, too, after starting the pickles and flour business with FarmDidi.

Meet Vaishali Didi who leads Gurudatt Bachat Ghat, from Gadana, Khuldabad, Maharashtra. Farm grown bitter gourds and lemons are freshly hand picked and mixed with spices to make pickles which is then stored in Bharnis. The pickles are made and packed under hygienic and ideal conditions to maintain quality requirements and are free from artificial preservatives.

Meet Nagma Didi who leads Subhani Swayam Sahayata Samuh, from Raigad, Maharashtra. Farm grown Chillies are freshly hand picked and mixed with spices to make pickles which is then stored in Bharnis. The pickles are made and packed under hygienic and ideal conditions to maintain quality requirements and are free from any artificial preservatives.

Meet Manisha Didi who leads Shivai Bachat Ghat, Shivri, Maharashtra.
